Buddy the Chocolate Lab
There are a few individual characters that make up the entire automata piece "Fishing". This is one of them.
The Buddy VideoBuddy is this fisherman's best friend. He enthusiastically peers over the side of the dock into the water observing Bigmouth and Crawford and watching for what else might come along. Perhaps he even marvels at his own reflection.

Buddy is made from 9 pieces of poplar, including the head and tail. In this photo you can see the levers than will be driven by rods to make the head and tail move. He likes to roll on his back, like most dogs, to have his tummy rubbed even though he has none!
Here Buddy's fur as been detailed by pyrography prior to applying paint. This is how he looks as seen from below. In the latter part of the video you can see his brass dog tags.
