The Snowbirds are finally getting there. On the way down to Automatacon in New Jersey last week I picked up a northeastern map of the USA as a desktop for the piece at a New York Thruway Rest Stop. Now I could say I go to great lengths for authenticity! Well that might be an over statement. Anyway, bad humour aside, here is a peak at my Snowbirds. A little more to do yet.
Yesterday it was a hot steamy day in Southern Ontario. I sat down but the lake chatting with a few close friends and shaped a golf bag and a set of golf clubs for the handle. A little paint last night and it will get attached today.
Here's Ryder the cat. In their haste to leave it seems that someone forgot to latch the cat carrier door, so Ryder is getting a panoramic view of the trip. Fortunately he was never declawed so he can hang on tightly!
So here is the stays of the Snowbirds luggage. Here is a photo of the balloons, the steamer trunk, and a suitcase all in the process of being built. The second photo is a cat carrier in progress along with a cat. I’ll take him to the carving group today. It’s akin to a quilting bee for old guys!
Automata is a creative blend of my life interests , engineering, art and woodworking.
