I haven't been too busy in the shop lately. Between vacationing grandkids and another sciatica episode I haven't accomplished a whole lot lately.
I have though, booked space at two wood carving shows this fall, one in Bobcaygeon on September 9th, and one in Pickering in October. I have been working on Doctor Noneck who is treating the skeleton from a previous blog. There is a photo below. When done he is supposed to take his glasses on and off. I don't know why I make these bold statements until I actually have things working! We'll see how it turns out!

This couple is the subject of my current automata project. I have throwing around names for them as I work but I really haven't come up with anything I'm really happy with with. The seated skeleton is female, the standing one is male. It isn't obvious. If you have a pair of good names drop me a line. The little stand in front of the female is where the edge of a desk will be that she has her hands on. I made this little jig to make sure her arms folded properly. She bends form her waist and puts her head down on the desk between her hands. His only movement is to nod his head. Here's another photo that shows the chair better.
