I've spent a few days on the CAD system working components for two automata pieces so it's time to get back to the shop. I also had a bout of food poisoning - always fun! - but I seem to be alive now. It seems everyone has the flu around here this winter. Knock on wood, I think my flu shot worked for me.
Anyway I'm setting out to build my first set of pulleys and cables into a piece. I intend to build all the pulleys and mounts from wood so it should be interesting. I'll post a photo when finished of a little component with three pulleys that moves a counter weight out of the way of some moving parts of a piece.
A fellow automata maker has recently published a new piece I love that can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CubZS1duV8Y. Her work is artistic and the video piece is well produced! Great work Karen!
Automata is a creative blend of my life interests , engineering, art and woodworking.
