Been away from the blog for a bit, but back working again. I've been spending some time trying to decide which one of a couple of projects to start next. I've picked one now but it requires reversing action work the way I see it. It would be too easy to use a reversing and a couple of limit switches for this. I've decided to try and keep things "old school" by using a mechanical reversing clutch from wood. So the main task this week is determining whether I can build an acceptable one.
My design guide is #87 from 507 Mechanical Movements, a book and now also website. It can be a little challenging to decipher these old sketches sometimes. Here's my guide. We'll see how it works out!
