After a little time away and time spent on CAD I'm back in the shop working on building the lower drive system for my current automata project, "The Lineup".
You may notice in the photo a piece of Teflon. The pawl mechanism lays on it's side in this project and I needed something to support the pull arm and not create too much resistance to the motion. That's why I chose to add it. I also have a spring to keep the pull arm engaged with the pinwheel. Both these are elements that I try not to employ, but Gravity was in the wrong direction this time. Ah well I guess we all bend our principles sometime.
Anyway here's a photo...
Automata is a creative blend of my life interests , engineering, art and woodworking.
